Storage tip - Fresh basil is best stored in the refrigerator to preserve its flavour and quality. To keep it fresh, trim the stems and place the basil in a glass of water, just like a bouquet of flowers. Loosely cover the leaves with a plastic bag or use a damp paper towel to wrap them. Change the water every two to three days to prevent wilting. Stored this way, basil can typically last up to a week.
